The Corporate and Foundation Relations Officer is a key member of an energetic team that supports the mission and priorities of UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School and UNC’s University Development Office (UDO). This individual will be instrumental in planning and implementing corporate and foundation fundraising efforts for the highly ranked Kenan Flagler Business School.

The Corporate and Foundation Relations Officer will be considered a full member of both the University’s central Corporate and Foundation Relations Office and UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School’s Advancement team. The primary responsibility for this position is to identify, cultivate and solicit corporations and foundations on behalf of UNC Kenan-Flagler. Travel will be required in this position. Heavy emphasis will be placed on establishing and maintaining relationships with corporate and foundation prospects, as well as Kenan-Flagler faculty and staff leadership. This individual will also be charged with developing winning, well-crafted professional proposals and stewarding existing corporate and foundation donors, resulting in a robust portfolio of corporate donors to UNC Kenan-Flagler’s key Centers and Initiatives.

Educational Requirements
Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred.

Qualifications and Experience
The applicant should have experience with donor cultivation, solicitation, and closing gifts and grants of $100,000 and above and have prior experience in advancement or institutional relations work within academic business schools. A minimum of one year of direct solicitation experience, with a preference for at least three years of fundraising or equivalent experience. Excellent written and oral communication skills, including experience in creating successful corporate proposals. Ability to interact effectively in a comprehensive and decentralized research university setting. Ability to work with volunteers, faculty members, potential donors, foundation and corporate partners, including demonstratable experience with, and knowledge of, corporate C-suite leaders. Ability to work effectively as a part of a dynamic team and with an appropriate sense of urgency.
