The Department of Statistics and Data Science at UCF seeks to hire one nine­month, non-tenure earning instructor or lecturer of Statistics anticipated to begin in August 2020.  The successful candidate will be required to teach introductory and upper level statistics courses as well as contribute to teaching related activities and other services associated with the department’s undergraduate programs. Full-time Lecturers and Instructors may have the opportunity to earn additional salary teaching summer classes, if funding is available. The Department of Statistics and Data Science at UCF currently offers a B.S. in Statistics, a B.S. in Actuarial Science, an M.S. in Statistical Computing with a track in Data Mining and a Ph.D. in Big Data Analytics.

An M.S. or Ph.D. in Statistics or a closely related field from a regionally accredited institution by the start of hire is required.  All but dissertation (ABD) will be considered as long as the degree is completed by the date of hire.  Preference will be given to those who have experience teaching introductory statistics courses and, in particular, large classes.
