Michigan Technological University, a nationally recognized leader in engineering, computing, and science education and research, invites applications for a tenured/tenure-track faculty or professor of practice position in construction management and engineering. The position will be in the Construction Management Program, under both the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and the School of Business and Economics.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned)

The successful candidate will collaboratively develop and teach undergraduate classes and laboratories, create innovative instructional materials and project-based experiences, develop external funding for research and projects with industry, establish and sustain a record of scholarly achievement, contribute to program assessment and accreditation activities, student advising, and other departmental service. Opportunities for research collaboration are prevalent across the University.

 

Required Education (minimum requirements)

To be considered for a tenure-track position, the applicant must have an earned PhD in civil engineering with an emphasis on construction engineering and/or construction management, or a closely related engineering or management field by May 31, 2020.

To be considered for a professor of practice position, the applicant must have at least a MS degree in construction management or a closely related engineering or management field.

 

Required Experience (minimum requirements)

Tenure-track position: The applicant must have the ability to conduct research and develop partnerships with contractors, industry, and others. Demonstrated development of funded research and/or scholarly achievements resulting in peer reviewed publications, 

Professor of practice position: Evidence of five years of relevant experience in the North American construction industry is required.
