School of Veterinary Medicine

Responding to growing needs for veterinary service and education, Texas Tech established the School of Veterinary Medicine. The School has raised $90 million for facilities and the required start-up funding was appropriated by the Texas Legislature. The School, located in Amarillo, Texas, will offer an innovative, world-class curriculum to address the critical shortage of veterinarians, by graduating practice-ready, competent, and confident veterinarians who will serve small, agricultural and regional communities across Texas.  The School will also expand access to affordable, high-quality veterinary medical education for Texans.  Texas Tech has begun the process of accreditation for the School. The American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) Council on Education (COE) conducted a consultative site visit during April 2019.  Facilities will include state-of-the-art buildings to support all aspects of the program.
