Dean of Admissions and Financial Aid

The University of Rochester, one of the nation's foremost research universities, seeks a strategic, forward-thinking, and collaborative leader to serve in the critically important role of dean of admissions and financial aid and further enable the University to frame and solve the greatest challenges of the future.

The University is known for its teaching, research, creative arts, and clinical care, and consists of the following academic units: The Faculty of Arts, Sciences & Engineering (comprised of the School of Arts and Sciences and the Hajim School of Engineering and Applied Sciences); the Eastman School of Music; the William E. Simon School of Business; the Warner School of Education and Human Development; the School of Medicine and Dentistry; and the School of Nursing. The School of Arts and Sciences, the Hajim School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, and the undergraduate College together constitute the integrated academic unit Arts, Sciences and Engineering (AS&E). The new dean will lead admissions and financial aid for AS&E and be a member of a collaborative, collegial environment where decision making on financial matters and resource allocation is a shared responsibility.

The successful candidate will be a strategic and collaborative leader who enables the University of Rochester to achieve its mission to "learn, discover, heal, create – and make the world even better." To do this, the new leader will have proven experience in developing and executing a vision to achieve the University's aspirations and have the skills to garner trust and support from colleagues across the institution. The dean will cultivate the talents of staff members in admissions and financial aid; enhance systems and structures to facilitate enrollment planning; and harness data and emerging technologies to hit enrollment targets and meet net-revenue goals. A strong understanding of today's competitive enrollment environment, unwavering commitment to enrolling students from diverse backgrounds, preference for working in partnership with other key institutional leaders, and the ability to engage and inspire multiple constituencies are also expected.
