Chair – Department of Kinesiology

 

Texas Christian University, Harris College of Nursing and Health Sciences, invites applications for the position of Chair of the Department of Kinesiology (tenure track appointment, Associate/Full Professor). The Chair is the senior administrator of the academic unit and serves as the liaison between the Department and the Dean of the college.  The Chair is responsible for leading strategic planning, budget allocations and management of resources, activities related to student recruitment and retention, faculty and staff orientation and development, resource enhancement, and the advancement of the Department's mission and goals within the University and the College. The Chair also oversees faculty/staff appointments, and in consultation with the faculty, promotion and tenure recommendations, program development and curricula. We are seeking an individual to continue the department’s record of strategic growth and advancement in teaching, research, and professional practice. The candidate will have an earned doctorate and demonstrated teaching/research experience in a discipline related to Kinesiology. Strong interpersonal communication skills and demonstrated or strong potential for successful academic leadership is essential. An understanding of all the programs within the department is preferred. 

The Department of Kinesiology offers a variety undergraduate and graduate programs of study, including a PhD in Health Sciences (harrisresearch.tcu.edu).
