Dean of the School of Business

St. Catherine University

Dean of the School of Business

St. Catherine University (St. Kate’s) seeks an experienced and innovative leader with strategic vision to serve as the Dean of the School of Business.

A vibrant university with one of the largest private Catholic women’s colleges in the country at its heart, St. Kate’s prepares students to make a difference in their professions, their communities, and the world through incorporating and emphasizing principles of social justice and Catholic Social Teaching throughout its programs. Within its structure of three colleges and three schools, the University is home to nearly 5,000 students in associate, bachelor’s, master’s, doctorate, and certificate programs. The University has approximately 317 faculty and 408 staff.

The School of Business delivers a transformative education and develops students’ confidence, adaptability, and performance-ready expertise to become ethical, effective leaders in their chosen field. Designed in consultation with business partners, innovative curriculum and real-world projects nurture creative and collaborative mindsets, preparing students to take action in an ever-changing, connected world. Small class sizes, one-on-one mentoring, and a focus on sustainability make our programs unique, along with a strong foundation in the liberal arts. Dedicated faculty serve as academic advisors and career mentors. They work with a diverse student body to introduce them to a wide range of careers within each discipline and help connect students with sought-after jobs and internships that refine business communications skills, broaden perspectives, and make valuable professional connections that provide access to full-time positions.

The School of Business consists of four academic departments –– undergraduate Business Administration, Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership (MAOL), and Apparel, Merchandising, and Design –– as well as the Center for Sales Innovation, which provides continuing education opportunities in sales leadership. The undergraduate programs include programs of study for traditional students in the College for Women and for non-traditional students in the College for Adults. Students develop an understanding of the broader business environment while allowing for in-depth study into one or more areas of interest.  Many students earn a double major or a major and a minor within the school. Students also pursue a range of interdisciplinary majors and minors that cross schools.

The School of Business is embarking on an exciting time of growth in both its size and impact. Previously part of the broader School of Business and Professional Studies, the newly standalone business school is poised for innovation and expansion. As the Dean, this person will have the unique opportunity to lead an emerging business school and develop a lasting vision for advancing the school into the future. The Dean will be charged with enhancing the school’s local, regional, national, and global brand and reputation, as well as fundraising and strategically growing enrollments. The Dean will work collaboratively with faculty, staff, students, alumni, and the business community to strengthen the breadth and depth of programs offered by the school, including programs in entrepreneurship and data analysis. In doing so, they will foster a culture of inclusive excellence that provides an outstanding, personalized experience for all students. The Dean will promote the mission, vision, and values of the University, advocate for the school to both internal and external audiences, and serve as the primary liaison between the Provost, President, Senior Leadership Team, and the School of Business.  As the university is developing an Academic Master Plan, the Dean will need to align strategic priorities to the plan.
