The Office of International Education and Study Away is pleased to announce that it is now accepting applications for an Assistant Director of International Education and Study Away. The Assistant Director will support the Director of the Office of International Education and Study Away with all functions specific to international study. This position will serve to advise students, coordinate outreach, work with major campus stakeholders (Dean’s Office’s, Registrar, Financial Aid, Office of Student Life, etc.) and promote the value of international education to the broader campus community.

Responsibilities

  • Front line of communication for the office and manage all walk-in questions and phone calls
  • Guide students toward on and off-campus resources to support their international experiences
  • Work closely with faculty, staff, and students in communicating policies, procedures and in disseminating general information specific to Study Away
  • Implement major outreach events on campus (Study Away Fair, Photo Contest, IEW)
  • Collaborate with the Director to support and facilitate the student group advising sessions
  • Develop and conduct pre-departure and re-entry advising events
  • Manage and update the website for the Office of International Education and Study Away and theWilliams-Exeter Programme at Oxford (WEPO) program
  • Manage the office’s social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, etc.)
  • Maintain student data and process all applications in PeopleSoft
  • Manage the Director’s calendar and schedule meetings/appointments as needed
  • Prepare monthly data reports for Director and relevant offices across campus
  • Prepare immigration and visa letters for students as needed

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least two years of experience in international study abroad preferred, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong computer skills, including social media and PeopleSoft experience
  • Highly organized and willing to create effective systems for office efficiency
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities at once
  • Able to work collaboratively on shared initiatives across campus
  • Demonstrated awareness, sensitivity, and commitment to diversity and inclusivity while working with a culturally and educationally diverse community both on campus and with international partner programs
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite
