President, Charlotte Campus

Johnson & Wales University, an innovative leader in experiential education and career-focused learning, is accepting applications and nominations for president at its Charlotte, NC location.

Founded in 1914, Johnson & Wales University is a private, nonprofit, accredited institution with approximately 13,000 graduate, undergraduate and online students at its four campuses in Providence, Rhode Island; North Miami, Florida; Denver, Colorado; and Charlotte, North Carolina. Its unique model integrates arts and sciences and industry-focused education with work experience and leadership opportunities, inspiring students to achieve professional success and lifelong personal and intellectual growth.

The Charlotte Campus opened in 2002 and currently enrolls approximately 1,700 students from across the U.S. and eight countries. This campus is spread across 14.7 acres and nine buildings in uptown Charlotte and offers time-honored degree programs in culinary arts, hospitality, business and liberal arts.

The Charlotte Campus president is responsible for leading the campus effectively to ensure the fulfillment of campus and university strategic objectives. The president operates within the institutional objectives and policies as determined by the Board of Trustees and senior leadership of the university.

The ideal candidate will have an earned doctorate and a significant amount of executive-level management experience from a regionally accredited institution or an equivalent setting. The incumbent must be a strategic and visionary leader who is student centered, committed to diversity and inclusion, and has exemplary interpersonal and communication skills. Additional qualifications include excellent decision making and problem solving competencies, a record of sound fiscal management, and personal and professional integrity.
