ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR FOR INTERPERSONAL VIOLENCE AREA

Manages the execution of all of the department's responsibilities under the Systemwide and Campus policies and procedures related to sexual violence and sexual harassment (SVSH). Responsibilities under the policies and procedures include, but are not limited to: receiving and analyzing findings of an investigative report after completion of a Title IX investigation; determining responsibility and assigning sanctions as appropriate; OR conducting equivalent adjudicative procedures as dictated by Systemwide policy and local procedures. Responsible for: researching national best practices related to SVSH issues within student conduct and provide recommendations to the Office of Judicial Affairs regarding trends, trauma informed practices, training opportunities, federal regulations and case law within higher education; tracking, monitoring and maintaining SVSH records and ensuring compliance with UC System-wide and Clery-mandated reporting procedures; administering the No Contact Order (NCO) process; and developing and presenting educational programming on student conduct issues regarding interpersonal violence. Serves as a member of the Title IX Case Management Team (CMT) on student matters and the Coordinated Community Response Team. Responsible for a caseload of academic and behavioral student conduct cases of the highest complexity and sensitivity addressed via a traditional administrative adjudication process and/or the Office of Judicial Affairs Restorative Justice Program. 

 

Requirements: Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of and ability to apply state and federal law, University of California policy, and campus policy, including but not limited to the Clery Act, Sexual Harassment and Title IX, and Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). Evidence of an effective leadership style and a background demonstrating success in managing difficult situations involving students, parents, administrators, faculty, and community members. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written, planning, facilitation, mediation, and implementation skills. Sensitivity and demonstrated ability to work with a diverse, multicultural community. Highest standards of integrity and ethics in both performance and behavior. 

 

Notes: Criminal history background check required. Mandated reporting requirements of Child Abuse and Dependent Adult Abuse. Some night and weekend work required. 

 

Salary: $66,500 - $79,800/yr.
