Associate Campaign Director

At Ohio University, the Division of University Advancement is made up of roughly 100 staff in seven departmental units: Advancement Administration, Advancement Communication and Marketing, Advancement Services, Alumni Association, Central Programs, Development, and The Ohio University Foundation Accounting Office. Together, these units build and strengthen the University’s relationship with all of those important in the life of the institution by connecting students, parents, alumni, faculty and staff, and the community. They also serve as the active support system for both the Ohio University Alumni Association and The Ohio University Foundation. The Associate Campaign Director will work in partnership with the Senior Associate Vice President of Development & Campaign Director to manage the operational logistics of multi-year fundraising campaigns in support of Ohio University. The incumbent will be responsible for executing campaign plans, reporting on campaign progress to multiple internal and external constituencies, effectively implementing campaign logistics, and will serve as a strategic advisor to University Advancement leadership. The Associate Campaign Director will work closely with the campaign’s volunteer committee, the campaign consultant, the Vice President for University Advancement, and Ohio University leadership.

Primary Accountabilities:
1. Execute an overall strategic plan for an integrated campaign model that supports the mission of Ohio University. Assist in planning a multi-year, multi-faceted approach to philanthropic resource development. Manage the relationship and implement tasks with campaign consultants. Collaborate with colleagues across the division and university to complete all campaign-related projects that include, but are not limited to events, trainings (staff, leadership, board members, campaign committee, and volunteers), creating and updating campaign collateral, and monitoring and adjusting progress timelines.

2. Serve as a strategic advisor to University Advancement leadership and provide essential support for successful multi-year campaigns. Assist in the development and implementation of strategies to identify and incorporate volunteers and donors in campaigns to grow the philanthropic pipeline. Provide constructive and critical feedback on the overall campaign plans and related projects to achieve maximum capacity.

3. Identify and build relationships with the volunteers supporting campaign efforts and serving on campaign committees. Serve as the main point of contact for the campaign committees and help connect members to colleagues across campus. Manage all meetings, agendas, notes, tasks, and presentations for campaign committees.

4. Work with University Advancement colleagues to produce campaign progress reports and coordinate their dissemination. Regularly work in the database to pull reports and analyze information on campaign progress. Transform the data for presentations and updates for regular occurring meetings (development, all-staff, alumni board, and foundation board). Monitor and maintain the campaign budget on behalf of the Campaign Director.

Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, with the ability to foster effective working relationships in a professional manner will also be an expectation of this position.
The successful candidate will possess excellent communication (verbal/written) and presentation skills, with the ability to enthusiastically communicate objectives to potential supporters. The position will require travel to events and engagements related to the campaign.
Honesty and integrity in handling confidential information will be a requirement in this position.
