The Moritz College of Law is seeking a Senior Fiscal Officer to join our team. Under the direction of the Dean, this position is responsible for the oversight, strategic forecasting, and maintenance of established and future financial operations of the College, ensuring adherence to established internal control structures. Advises the Dean on all aspects of the College’s financial and facilities matters; oversees the preparation and maintenance of the College’s budget; evaluates and makes projections of revenues and expenditures and student enrollment figures; provides analyses and projections of College funding consistent with the University budget process; supervises staff in financial and facilities operations; has responsibility for strategic planning and oversight of all aspects of financial management in the College in collaboration with the Dean; manages internal relationships with financial service center; provides management support to the Dean; provides supervision to multiple student assistants; and works on special projects as assigned by the Dean.

Primary duties also include, but are not limited to, ensuring appropriate segregation of duties in the processing of all financial transactions, appropriate mandatory reconciliations within University and College guidelines and policies, and operational best practices; developing and implementing College policies and procedures related to financial operations; providing technical guidance and oversight of the College’s financial and facilities matters, including the budget; and overseeing facilities.

Required Qualifications   

Bachelor’s degree in business administration or equivalent combination of education & experience; three years of experience in a progressively responsible fiscal management capacity; strong problem solving, communication, financial and organizational skills; demonstrated proficient use of electronic spreadsheets, pivot tables & databases; requires a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

Desired Qualifications      

Master’s degree in business administration or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred; experience with university or public sector budget management, Office of Sponsored Programs fund accounting, information technology, and facilities.
