Ecotone Postgraduate Fellow
Brief Summary of Work for this Position
The University of North Carolina Wilmington invites applications for a full-time Ecotone postgraduate fellow in the Department of Creative Writing, on a two-year, 12-month appointment, beginning Fall 2019. The successful candidate will engage in teaching and in scholarly and creative research as part of the Department of Creative Writing. They will teach one course in publishing and/or creative writing each semester, with all curricula emphasizing diversity and inclusion. Research will include assisting in editorial, managerial, and other projects for Ecotone, the award-winning literary magazine of place, as determined by the magazine’s needs and the candidate’s skills and interests, including marketing, promotion, and editing prose. The successful candidate will join a nationally recognized department that offers both a BFA and an MFA, as well as an undergraduate Certificate in Publishing
• Completion of an MFA in writing or publishing, or an MA in publishing, no later than spring 2019, and no earlier than January 1, 2012
• At least two years of editorial experience, preferably with a literary magazine or press
• Experience teaching at the undergraduate level

Professional experience in editing, publishing and promotion
Strong organizational skills
Experience teaching at the undergraduate level
Preferred formal education, professional skills and work experience
Experience with design for literary publications
Relevant software knowledge including InDesign
