The University of Florida (UF) seeks an experienced and innovative leader with strategic vision to serve as the next Dean of the Warrington College of Business.

The University of Florida is a top-10 public research university and the flagship of Florida’s state university system. Located in Gainesville since 1906, UF has 16 colleges, a major academic health center, a championship-winning athletic program, a top-ranked undergraduate online program and, in keeping with its land-grant mission, one of the nation’s most comprehensive agriculture and natural resources programs. All are based at the university’s 2,000-acre campus, joining its historic core with advanced facilities and preserved natural areas, and connecting to adjacent innovation, commercial and residential districts.

UF has 56,000 students, 31,000 employees, 5,500 faculty members, a $5 billion annual budget and more than 140 mission-focused units across the state of Florida. It is the Sunshine State’s only member of the Association of American Universities comprising the nation’s 60 leading public and private research universities. It is ranked 8th in the U.S. News and World Report Best College Rankings, 2nd in Kiplinger’s Best College Values and 6th in The New York Times College Access Index. UF has 45 elections to the National Academies and American Academy of Arts and Sciences; 51 fellows with the American Association for the Advancement of Science; and two Pulitzer Prize winners. A record 41,400 students applied for 6,500 positions in the 2019-20 academic year.

The Warrington College of Business has a total enrollment of 6,832 students. There are 4,999 undergraduate students; 1,720 students in specialized master's programs and MBA’s; 55 DBA students; and 58 Ph.D. students. The College has a total of 115 faculty members, of which 74 are tenured/tenure-track faculty and 41 are clinical faculty or lecturers. The College has been on a strong upward trajectory in recent years, building a research faculty in which four of the five departments in the College are ranked in the top 10 among public universities based on Academic Analytics data. Nationally, U.S. News ranks the College's Heavener School as #30 (#19 publics) for undergraduate business programs, the full-time MBA program in the Hough Graduate School as #25 (#9 publics), and the Fisher School of Accounting as #11 (#6 publics). The online MBA program is ranked 4th among U.S. universities by both the Financial Times and U.S. News. Currently, the university is in the midst of a capital campaign, to which the college has committed to raising $250 million.

The University seeks a Dean who demonstrates exemplary strategic leadership, outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, entrepreneurial drive, and a passion for the mission of the College and University. The Dean will have a demonstrated commitment to excellence in undergraduate and graduate education and to the scholarly mission of its faculty. He or she will be an energetic advocate for the College, articulating a compelling case for its standing among the nation's very best business schools and securing support to achieve and maintain excellence in all domains. The ideal candidate will have a record of responding effectively to the rapidly changing demands on business schools and higher education more broadly. He or she will have a doctorate in an appropriate field and evidence of distinguished scholarly accomplishment.
