Infectious Diseases scientist position

The University of Iowa Inflammation Program/Department of Internal Medicine/Division of Infectious Diseases is seeking a Ph.D., or M.D./Ph.D. scientist at the rank of Assistant  Professor in the tenured track. Individuals under consideration must have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree and must have completed postdoctoral work.  Candidates must have expertise in human phagocyte (neutrophils, monocytes, macrophage) biology, molecular biology with a special focus on epigenetic events, and the use of modern genetic techniques to manipulate gene expression in myeloid cells, both human and murine. This position will involve working as part of the Iowa Inflammation Program, an integrated group of investigators that studies a wide range of phases of the biology of inflammation. In addition candidates must have an interest in teaching in an academic setting and in participating in other interdisciplinary programs on campus.  This position is not eligible for J-1 Sponsorship.
