Brooklyn Law School, a vibrant intellectual community emphasizing teaching excellence, cutting-edge scholarship, and innovative academic programs designed to prepare students for public service and private practice, seeks an exceptional and experienced Executive Vice President for Administration and Finance & Chief Business Officer (EVP) for the Law School. This is an outstanding opportunity for an accomplished financial leader, with expertise in both strategy and finance, to lead the business affairs and operations teams of a top-tier independent law school.

The EVP will oversee the Law School’s financial and business functions and its operations teams, steward the Law School’s assets, and manage finances prudently and in alignment with the School’s mission and vision. The EVP will report to the Dean and President of the Law School, be an active member of the Dean and President’s senior leadership team, and will work collaboratively with other members of the senior staff.

The EVP will provide strategic leadership of a complex portfolio of services, including finance, facilities management and real estate, human resources, information technology, and public safety. Serving as the Law School’s chief financial officer, the EVP will have direct oversight of the School’s operating and capital budgets and oversee departments employing a total of 66 employees. The Law School’s operating budget for the 2019 fiscal year was $49 million, supported by an endowment of $237 million. The EVP will also work with the Board of Trustees’ Finance and Audit Committees and attend regular Board meetings.

The ideal candidate will be an inventive and experienced leader who is well-versed in trends and best practices in higher education financial management and associated business areas. The ideal candidate will bring to the position integrity, strong analytical skills, exceptional communication and mentorship skills, the ability to partner with leaders within and outside of the Law School, and enthusiasm for Brooklyn Law School’s distinctive mission. The individual will possess significant administrative experience in financial planning and analysis, preferably in higher education.
