Northwestern University (Northwestern) seeks a strategic and visionary student affairs leader to serve as its next Executive Director for Residential Services. The Executive Director, reporting directly to the Vice President for Student Affairs, oversees residential services for the university and will have a tremendous impact on the future of the residential student experience at one of the premier private institutions of higher education. With over 21,000 students and more than 3,000 faculty on three campuses, the university has been on an impressive growth trajectory for the last ten years. As the institution moves forward in its now $5 billion capital campaign, We Will, the renovation and construction of residential housing is a key strategic priority for the university. Led by Vice President Patricia Telles-Irvin and the Division of Student Affairs, the university has developed a housing master plan that will further meet student needs and improve the residential environment. The Executive Director oversees a thriving undergraduate and graduate community of over 5,000 students, and will join the institution as it continues its robust plan to transform the Northwestern student experience.

The Executive Director will provide vision, leadership and direction to continue the strategic direction of the residential services units, and will manage the administrative, budgetary, facilities, co-curricular, and programmatic aspirations of the department. The Executive Director must have a strong understanding of, and commitment to, diversity, social justice, and the creation of inclusive work and living environments. The Executive Director will sustain a high level of direct and visible involvement with staff and students, earning their trust and respect, and providing a model of engagement with students for other administrators and faculty. The next Executive Director will have significant experience in housing and residence life administration, and will bring a strong commitment and record of building teams and collaborative partnerships.
