IT Consultant

The University of Pittsburgh is seeking a qualified IT Consultant. The Consultant position is a high-level technical position responsible for the support of servers, workstations, and applications for one or more departments throughout the University of Pittsburgh. This position requires a broad knowledge of Windows-based operating systems, Microsoft Outlook used in conjunction with Exchange and/or IMAP, and the ability to troubleshoot general hardware and software issues. Macintosh, Linux, mobile/hand held device configuration, and web development skills are also particularly valuable.

 


The incumbent will also be responsible for developing and/or maintaining documentation required for each supported system. This position reports to the manager of Consulting Services within Computing Services and Systems Development (CSSD). The incumbent must have the ability to provide exceptional customer service, be willing to assist peers while facilitating the success of the Consulting Services team, manage tasks efficiently while meeting deadlines, and possess excellent communication skills.

 

 


A Degree in Information Science, Computer Science and/or two years related job experience required. Applicants should include complete employment history on their application.
