Visiting Assistant or Associate Professor in Marketing

The Maine Business School (AACSB Accredited) at the University of Maine seeks applicants for a non-tenure-track, academic-year position at the rank of Visiting Assistant or Associate Professor in Marketing (rank is open) with an anticipated start date of September 1st, 2019. This will be a one-year, fixed-length position.

The successful candidate will be expected to be an effective and engaging teacher, to make a strong commitment to the development of innovative curricula, to advise and mentor undergraduates in pursuit of their academic and research goals, and to collaborate with colleagues to increase student success. Visiting faculty are expected to either maintain professional affiliations or have a quality research program (publish in peer-reviewed journals). The position will offer a competitive salary, research support, and a teaching load commensurate with similarly sized research universities.

The typical teaching load is three courses one semester and two courses one semester. Courses will typically have between 40 and 60 students in each section. The candidate will be expected to participate in the maintenance of AACSB accreditation. Service to the School, University, and the Community is required. The candidate should also foster collaborative relationships with the business community.

The successful candidate is required to have a PhD (or its equivalent) from an accredited program in Marketing and demonstrate an ability to engage in quality research. Alternatively, the candidate will have a Master’s degree with at least five years of professional experience in Marketing. Professional certification and relevant professional experience are a plus. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required. Preference will be given to those with prior teaching experience.
