Part-time Palliative Care faculty position as an Associate

The University of Iowa Palliative Care program is recruiting for a part-time, board certified/board eligible Hospice and Palliative Medicine physician humanists to join a group of energetic and collaborative Palliative Care colleagues who bring multi-faceted expertise (family medicine, general internal medicine, psychiatry, vascular surgery, and cardiology) to patient care and to future planning within a 705 bed tertiary university hospital.  The position will be at the rank of Associate, non-tenure track.  Candidates must be MD or equivalent with excellent communication skills.  Authorization to work in the US is required.  Opportunities for additional program growth include an expanding role in the Emergency Department and in the intensive care units; a broadening outpatient presence; and an inpatient palliative care unit.  The adult program works cooperatively with the University of Iowa Pediatric Palliative Care program.  Our Hospice and Palliative Medicine fellowship, approved for two fellows, began in July 2014.
