Vice President for Academic Initiatives and Transformation

American Association of State Colleges and Universities
Vice President for Academic Initiatives and Transformation

The Board of Directors and President of AASCU invite nominations, expressions of interest, and applications for the newly redesigned position of Vice President for Academic Initiatives and Transformation (VPAIT).

The American Association of State Colleges and Universities (AASCU) seeks a change agent and visionary who builds, implements, and promotes a wide range of programs serving members' academic leadership, organizational transformation, and innovative curricular impact. Reporting directly to President Mildred Garcia and serving as a member of the senior leadership team, the Vice President for Academic Initiatives and Transformation is responsible for the development and management of academic initiatives and activities with the goal of transformation at the institutional and individual/student level.

This search comes at a time of great change in higher education during a period when public trust and support for higher education have waned. It also comes at a time of change at AASCU, with a new and energetic president, at the helm. The AASCU team will build upon the accomplishments of the past and boldly consider the ways in which the association can advance its advocacy, leadership, and service in support of member institutions and in the cause of advancing the distinctive mission of public higher education.

AASU seeks a VPAIT with proven abilities in management and success in developing cooperative working relationships including those with senior administrators, as well as an in-depth knowledge of the higher education landscape. A detailed description of desired attributes, the application process, and other important information about the position can be found at: http://academic-search.com/sites/default/files/AASCUVPAIT.pdf. Additional information about AASCU can be found at http://www.AASCU.org.

For full consideration by the search committee, applications should be submitted by May 29, 2019. Professional references are required but will be called at a later stage and only with the candidate's permission. As explained in the profile, materials should be sent to: AASCUVPAIT@academic-search.com.

The search is being assisted by Academic Search, Inc. Confidential discussions regarding this opportunity can be arranged with Dr. Jay Lemons ( jay@academic-search.com ), or with Dr. Andrea Warren Hamos ( awh@academic-search.com ).
