Digital Resources Librarian - Westminster Choir College of Rider University

Westminster Choir College of Rider University invites applications for a full-time Systems Administrator and Electronic Resources Librarian for its Talbott Library in Princeton, New Jersey to start September 1, 2019.

Position Details

The successful candidate will be responsible for: managing administrative aspects of an integrated library system, including the management and implementation of ILS-related software; maintaining digital library resources, including digital books, streaming audio and video databases; working closely with the IT department to resolve issues quickly.

Library faculty members also cover a workload which may include reference work, information literacy instruction, collection development, and other professional activities.

Qualifications

A Master’s degree from an ALA accredited library school or an equivalent graduate library science/information studies degree along with a degree in music is required. The successful candidate should possess: a working knowledge of library systems; the electronic resources life cycle; familiarity with a variety of music resources; bibliographic knowledge of one or more languages in addition to English.

Evidence of high level of interpersonal, organizational and technical project management skills; evidence of strong oral and written communications skills; evidence of ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a collegial, team work environment and maintain positive professional working relationships; and evidence of ability to work gracefully with diverse temperaments. 

Preferred qualifications include: A second Master’s degree (which is required for tenure); familiarity with Sierra ILS, and EDS; evidence of initiative and resourcefulness in past activities; experience in managing a diverse range of activities in a highly visible, face paced academic environment.
