Assistant Teaching Professor of Biology in Human Anatomy and Physiology

Biology:  Assistant Teaching Professor of Biology in Human Anatomy and Physiology to teach lecture courses in human physiology, human anatomy and physiology, human anatomy, or pathophysiology; carry out advising duties and provide service to the institution.

 

Require:  Ph.D. in Biology, Physiology, or closely related field by date of appointment, August 19, 2019.

 

Consideration may be given to:  physiologists, cell biologists, pathologists, or anatomists with a demonstrated commitment to teaching and advising.

 

The Assistant Teaching Professor would teach six lecture sections each year in human anatomy, physiology, and related courses serving three groups of students.  The Human Physiology course is a non-majors course taken by students to fulfill the university lab course requirement.  Two of the courses (Human Anatomy and Physiology, Pathophysiology) are part of the undergraduate Nursing program and taken by nursing students only.  The course in Human Anatomy is a Biology majors course that meets admissions requirements for medical school, dental school, physician’s assistant, physical therapy and other professional programs.  It is taken by students majoring in biology, kinesiology, microbiology, chemistry, as well as others.

 

Advising duties would include providing undergraduate students with assistance with course schedules.  Service to the institution would include departmental and university committees.

 

Full time, 9-month appointment.
