Medical Anthropologist

The Division of General Internal Medicine within the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine is seeking a non-tenure track faculty member at the rank of Research Assistant Professor.  Successful candidates must have a PhD degree with an additional experience in public health or health services research.  Candidates will be required to develop a research focus that can lead to independent and collaborative funding the areas of infection prevention and control, antimicrobial stewardship, cancer prevention and screening care coordination and delivery, rural health, and/or implementation science. Experience with Department of Veterans Affairs is required.  Successful candidates must be able to collaborate with other faculty in the design and execution of innovative research programs and assist other faculty with qualitative research methods. 

The successful candidate is required to have excellent communication and leadership skills, excellent organization skills and demonstrate job-related experience with a commitment to diversity in the academic setting.  In addition, the successful candidate should have peer-reviewed publications as first/senior author, presentations at national research meetings, and have expertise in formative evaluation and qualitative methods in healthcare contexts, specifically ethnographic methods.
