Founded in 1858, Susquehanna University is a selective, residential, national liberal arts college, located in Selinsgrove, PA, approximately 50 miles north of Harrisburg in the scenic Susquehanna River Valley. The University enrolls 2,300 students and offers a student-faculty ratio of 13 to 1. Susquehanna offers Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Music, and Bachelor of Science degrees in more than 50 majors and 45 minors as well as pre‐professional programs and an interdisciplinary honors program, all administered through the School of Arts and Sciences and the AACSB–accredited Sigmund Weis School of Business. A central curriculum requirement is the University’s award-winning Global Opportunities (GO) Program, offering students a wide range of off-campus educational and cross-cultural programs in U.S. and international locations, including preparatory, experiential, and reflective components.

Reporting to the President, the Provost provides strategic leadership and direction for all aspects of the University’s academic programs and serves as a member of the President’s Senior Leadership Team. The Provost has administrative oversight for the following areas: School of Arts and Sciences, Sigmund Weis School of Business, Global Programs, Institutional Effectiveness, Career Development, Grants & Foundation Relations, Registrar, and Library.

Susquehanna seeks an innovative, dynamic leader with a track record of strategic leadership in support of evolving academic programs, student global engagement, and faculty-student scholarship. The University takes great pride in its culture of sound financial and strategic planning, professional development, and data-driven decision-making. To be most effective, the Provost will embrace these principles and actively garner and strategically allocate resources to support the academic priorities for the University. A strong track record of recruiting, developing, and retaining a diverse faculty and staff is expected. An earned doctorate and significant accomplishment in teaching, scholarship, and service commensurate with senior academic rank within a discipline relevant to Susquehanna University is required.
