Wesleyan University seeks an experienced, strategic, and ambitious leader to serve as its next Vice President, Dean of Admission and Financial Aid (“VP”). Reporting directly to President Michael Roth and serving on his senior leadership team, the incoming VP will lead a talented team of admissions and financial aid professionals charged with recruiting, assessing, and enrolling the next generation of Wesleyan students. The incoming VP will bring a data-driven and forward-looking approach to the profession and a distinguished track record of supporting access, diversity, and student success initiatives.

Since its founding in 1831, Wesleyan has been a national leader in curricular innovation. The University is consistently ranked among the nation’s top liberal arts colleges and offers an intimate and collaborative learning environment with renowned faculty, cutting-edge facilities, and unique research opportunities. Housed on a beautiful 315-acre historic New England campus, the University is known for its vibrant campus culture that dually embraces critical thinking and practical idealism. With approximately 3,000 full-time undergraduates, Wesleyan is primarily an undergraduate institution; it also enrolls around 200 graduate students and offers a master of arts in liberal studies, master of philosophy in liberal arts, and PhDs in six disciplines.

The dynamism of the current Wesleyan student body and talented alumni base is a direct result of the University’s historic and proactive commitment to enrolling those who wish to join an intellectually challenging, civically engaged, and inclusive campus community. Working in partnership with senior administrators, faculty, staff, students, alumni, and community partners, the incoming VP will provide leadership in the areas of admissions, financial aid, and student success efforts across campus. The VP will be an analytical and creative thinker, with the ability to nimbly plan for the future, strategically steward financial aid, ambitiously fuel innovative marketing campaigns, and mentor emerging professionals in the field. Supporting Wesleyan’s long-standing membership in the Consortium on Financing Higher Education and American Talent Initiative, as well as partnerships with Posse and QuestBridge, the incoming VP will be a national thought leader in the field of enrollment, a powerful proponent of liberal education and deeply dedicated to building a diverse and energetic campus community.
