Lecturer in Accounting

The Maine Business School (AACSB Accredited) at the University of Maine seeks applicants for a teaching faculty position at the rank of Lecturer, with an anticipated start date of September 1, 2019. This will be a full-time, ongoing appointment, renewed annually based on satisfactory performance.

The successful candidate will be expected to be an effective and engaging teacher, to make a strong commitment to the development of innovative curricula, to advise and mentor undergraduates in pursuit of their academic and research goals, and to collaborate with colleagues to increase student success. The typical teaching load is four courses per semester at the undergraduate level. Some service to the School, University, and in the Community is expected.

Documented successful college-level teaching is required. We are particularly interested in candidates who can teach Managerial Accounting and Cost Accounting, though the ability to teach other accounting courses is preferred. Preference will be given to those applicants with documented participation in activities promoting inclusive excellence. A Master’s degree in accounting, business administration, or a related field is required. Preference will be given to candidates with CPA or CMA credentials. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.
