The Community College of Philadelphia, a public, open-admission institution that provides academic resources and support services to help students achieve their academic goals, is seeking applications and nominations for the position of Vice President for Marketing & Communications.

As the largest public institution of higher education in Philadelphia, the Community College of Philadelphia College (the College) has served more than 685,000 of the city's residents since 1965.

Its programs of study in liberal arts and sciences, career technologies, and basic academic skills provide a coherent foundation for college transfer, employment and lifelong learning. ROLE SUMMARY

The Vice President for Marketing & Communications (the Vice President) develops and leads implementation of the College's institution-wide marketing and communications for internal and external constituencies. As part of that role, the Vice President will provide leadership and oversight for government relations strategies.

The Vice President will create a multi-year plan for the College, shaping and managing activities that promote the College mission and enhancing the College’s visibility and brand reputation. Serving as a member of the College’s senior leadership, the Vice President creates and integrates a broad range of public relations and marketing activities relative to the strategic direction and positioning of the organization and its leadership.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree is required; advanced degree is preferred.
  • At least five years of progressive leadership experience with demonstratedcreating,implementing,andevaluatingamulti-year,enterprise-wide marketing and communicationsplan using qualitative and quantitative data.
  • Extensive knowledge and innovative use of social media.
  • increase the effectiveness of a development program and staff through established objectives and performance standards
  • Experience working in an institution of higher education or nonprofit environment of similar complexity is strongly preferred.
