University Of Cincinnati Seeks Designated Institutional Official

The University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, located in the heart of the city just east of the university’s uptown campus, has a distinguished reputation for training prominent health care professionals and providing leading-edge research. Substantial collaborations also exist with the Cincinnati VA and Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, ranked #2 amongst the top children’s hospitals in the country

The University of Cincinnati seeks a visionary and collaborative leader to serve as the Designated Institutional Official. The new DIO will have the opportunity to take the current Graduate Medical Education (GME) programs to the next level and foster more closely aligned, productive working relationships with partner hospitals.

The University of Cincinnati Medical Center, in affiliation with the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine is the Sponsoring Institution for more than 65 ACGME accredited residency and fellowship programs along with more than 30 other medical specialty programs and programs in dentistry and podiatry. There is opportunity to expand the programs to West Chester Hospital, a community based hospital within their academic health system.

The preferred candidate will have the ability to define, articulate, and realize a vision for Graduate Medical Education development and integration within the context of the strategic plan of the University of Cincinnati Medical Center and the University of Cincinnati College
of Medicine.

Position Requirements: MD/DO, Ph.D or Ed.D with a proven record of educational scholarship at an accredited medical school as well as significant experience in GME either as a residency/fellowship program director or DIO.
