The Department of Health Sciences and Human Performance and the Department of Biology within the College of Natural and Health Sciences at The University of Tampa invites applications for a Professor of Instruction position shared by both departments beginning in August 2019.  This is a continuing non-tenure track position with opportunities for promotion.

 

The University of Tampa is a medium-sized, comprehensive, residentially based private institution of 9,200 undergraduate and graduate students. The University is ideally situated on a beautiful 110-acre campus next to the Hillsborough River, adjacent to Tampa’s dynamic central business district, which is a growing, vibrant, diverse metropolitan area. This position will have primary teaching responsibilities in Human Anatomy and Physiology, Introductory Biology for science majors (e.g., General Biology I and II lecture and lab), Biostatistics and non-science major lecture courses as assigned by the department chair. Each candidate will be expected to teach 27 contact hours per academic year.  Opportunities for summer teaching may be available.

 

The candidate is expected to engage in advising/mentoring of students, and to participate in service to the department, college, and university.

 

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Health Sciences and Human Performance, Biology, or related discipline by August 2019.

 

The ideal candidate for this position will have demonstrated expertise in human anatomy and physiology and biostatistics.

 

Additional expertise in one or more content areas represented in the departments is desirable.

 

Prior teaching experience and a demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence in lower and upper division undergraduate courses is required.

 

Salary for this position is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
