SEARCH FOR THE VICE PRESIDENT FOR ADVANCEMENT AND ALUMNI ENGAGEMENT

Wittenberg University President, Dr. Michael L. Frandsen, and the Vice President for Advancement and Alumni Engagement search committee invite nominations and applications for the Vice President's position.

The ideal candidate will be an exemplary administrator and campus leader working with the University's internal and external constituents, engaging them in fundraising and other engagement programs that will strengthen the University. The Vice President will lead a staff of professionals in building alumni and parent programs, opportunities for students and faculty and the University's many constituents to help shape the University's future in accordance with the University's strategic plan, and will recommend to the President ways in which the University's many constituents can help the University far beyond their giving of financial resources by engaging in student recruitment, and student life programs as mentors and role models. The candidate selected will also ensure the pursuit of excellence and consistent quality standards in all programs designed to meet the needs of the University's constituents. Additionally, expectations are that the candidate will be a decisive yet thoughtful and collaborative leader capable of articulating the distinct benefits of a Wittenberg education to its many diverse constituents while demonstrating an ability to manage human and fiscal resources effectively.

LEADERSHIP CHARACTERISTICS
The position of Vice President for Advancement and Alumni Engagement at Wittenberg requires certain talents, skills, and experiences that will enable continuing growth and development of all the University's programs. The Vice President must have certain required characteristics as well as other characteristics that would be desirable for the position.

Required Characteristics:
• A bachelor's degree with an advanced degree preferred
• Progressively responsible and successful fundraising experience, preferably in a college or university

Desired Characteristics:
• CFRE certification
• Experience leading a comprehensive fundraising campaign
• Experience with personnel management budget and operations
• Experience with alumni and parent programs
• The ability and desire to use data for decision-making and strategic planning
• Experience using one or more CRM platforms (Salesforce, Raiser's Edge, etc.)
• Leadership experience and successful fundraising in project-oriented fundraising as well as capital and comprehensive campaigns
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
• The desire to partner and work collaboratively with senior leadership in setting and achieving institutional priorities
• Work as a team builder who can collaborate on multiple levels with diverse constituencies
• Successful and progressively responsible track record of experience in administration at a college or university
• The ability to address complex issues with integrity, diplomacy, and transparency
