Medical Director, Outpatient HIV Clinic. The Division of Infectious Diseases and Global Public Health and Department of Medicine (http://med.ucsd.edu/Pages/default.aspx) at the University of California, San Diego is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and student body. The Division is seeking a new Medical Director of the Owen Clinic.

The Owen Clinic is internationally recognized as a center for HIV clinical care and is a top rated primary HIV care program in the United States. The Owen Clinic is a primary care-based, multi-disciplinary comprehensive HIV clinical program that provides primary care and specialty services for 3,000 patients every year. The program includes strong outpatient and inpatient HIV medicine, leading edge HIV clinical and outcomes research, and robust medical student, resident and fellow teaching. The clinic is also a site for the Pacific AIDS Education and Training Center and includes a highly regarded "mini residency" in HIV primary care to physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, and pharmacists.

Candidates must have an MD and be board certified in Internal Medicine. Applicants must have strong HIV clinical skills, research, leadership experience, and a track record of mentoring trainees. Candidates with board certification in Infectious Disease are preferred.

The appropriate series and appointment at the Associate or Full Professor level will be based on the candidate's qualifications and experience.

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and based on the University of California pay scales. Appointments may require candidates to be self-funded.
