Fordham University invites inquiries, nominations and applications for the position of dean of Fordham College at Lincoln Center.

Fordham College at Lincoln Center (FCLC) is the dynamic liberal arts college on Fordham’s attractive and self-contained campus at the cultural and communications crossroads of Manhattan. FCLC is one of the three New York City area campuses of Fordham University, the Jesuit University of New York. FCLC is a close-knit intellectual and creative community of faculty and students that combines a traditionally strong Fordham liberal arts education with the innovative instructional and pre-professional opportunities readily available at a location amidst the world’s most diverse and remarkable concentration of artistic, cultural, media, commercial and nonprofit institutions. The College provides majors in the humanities, social sciences and natural science, as well as offering outstanding programs in theatre, dance, visual arts, social work and education.

The dean of FCLC is the academic leader of Fordham College at Lincoln Center and reports to the provost. The dean of FCLC will be a natural collaborator and bridge builder who is able to enhance the distinctive intellectual, organizational and cultural strength of the FCLC community and generate resources and opportunities. The dean’s creative and entrepreneurial spirit and passionate commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion will enhance programs and partnerships to create a thriving culture connected to institutions and resources in the City.

The Arts and Sciences (A&S) disciplines are at the heart of Fordham University, and the dean of FCLC works closely with the dean of Faculty of Arts and Sciences and the other deans of Arts and Sciences. Founded originally as a liberal arts college, Fordham stands in a nearly 500-year-old tradition of Jesuit education that has emphasized the formation of students and scholars as critical thinkers who are capable of putting their wisdom and learning at the service of a more just world. Today, A&S is Fordham's largest single academic area comprising, in 20 departments and 26 interdisciplinary programs, approximately 360 tenured and tenure-track faculty, 122 other full-time faculty, more than 440 part-time colleagues, more than 6,200 full-time undergraduate and 947 graduate students, and 102 professional staff and administrators.

Fordham University was founded as a Catholic institution in 1841 and was entrusted to the Society of Jesus (the Jesuits) in 1846. More than 16,500 students are taught by a full-time faculty of approximately 800 on campuses in Manhattan, the Bronx and Westchester County in New York. The University has a campus in London and supports programs in China and South Africa. The University has an annual operating budget of approximately $580 million and an endowment of $780 million.
