Texas Christian University (TCU) invites applications and nominations for the position of Dean of the Harris College of Nursing & Health Sciences. The University seeks a visionary leader who embodies the Teacher-Scholar model and will advance TCU’s stature among the top colleges and schools of nursing and health sciences.

 

TCU is a university located in Fort Worth, Texas, known for its attractive lifestyle, culture, educational and entertainment opportunities, and world-class art museums. The University has over 10,000 undergraduate and graduate students, of which the Harris College of Nursing and Health Sciences has approximately 1,300 undergraduate and 360 graduate students in Master’s and Doctoral programs, including a Doctor of Nursing Practice and a new Doctor of Philosophy of Health Sciences program. The College includes the following academic departments: Communication Sciences & Disorders, Kinesiology, Nursing, Nurse Anesthesia, and Social Work. Each academic department maintains external accreditation/certification by organizations in their respective fields. The College operates the Miller Speech and Hearing Clinic, serving over 200 families in the community. The College also houses the Health Innovation Institute at TCU, Center for Translational Research, Center for Collaborative Practice, Center for Oncology Education and Research, Let’s Inspire Innovation ‘N Kids (LiiNK) Center and Sport Science Center. The Annie Richardson Bass Building which houses the Dean, offers over 15,000 square feet of laboratory and simulation space using state of the art high-fidelity technology.

 

The Dean is the chief executive officer of the College and reports to the Provost of the University. The Dean is responsible for the administrative and academic functions of the College and serves as the leading advocate of the faculty, staff, students, and programs to the campus community and external constituencies. Successful candidates will have demonstrated leadership qualities, including the abilities to: attract and inspire distinguished faculty, talented staff, and outstanding students; support and grow research initiatives; cultivate and maintain relationships with the external community; and increase gifts, endowments, and other significant revenue sources.
