The Department of Chemistry, Biochemistry & Physics in the College of Natural & Health Sciences at The University of Tampa invites applications for two full-time instructional faculty positions beginning in August 2019. These are continuing non-tenure track position with opportunities for promotion.
The University of Tampa is a medium-sized, comprehensive, residentially based private institution of 9,200 undergraduate and graduate students. These positions will have teaching and service requirements. Primary teaching responsibilities are in introductory chemistry for science majors (General Chemistry I and/or II lecture and/or labs) and non-science major courses. Areas of expertise for these positions are open to all areas of chemistry or chemistry-related fields.
PhD preferred (strong ABD candidates considered); prior teaching experience with undergraduates is desirable. A personal commitment to quality undergraduate teaching and advising within a culturally diverse student population is essential.
The Department of Chemistry, Biochemistry, and Physics consists of approximately 30 full-time faculty and academic staff members and more than 220 majors. The Department awards degrees exclusively at the undergraduate level in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Forensic Science, Marine Chemistry, and Physics. Students may pursue degrees certified by the American Chemical Society (ACS) or accredited by the American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (ASBMB) or the Forensic Science Education Programs Accreditation Commission (FEPAC). About 25 majors graduate from the Department annually.
