Indiana State University seeks an assistant professor of Educational Psychology for the Department of Communication Disorders and Counseling, School and Educational Psychology.  This dynamic individual will teach some combination of courses in statistics, quantitative research methods, qualitative inquiry, assessment/evaluation, developmental psychology or multicultural education and conduct research in related areas.  The department of 17 full-time faculty offers an impressive representation of highly sought-after degrees including Ph.D. degrees in School Psychology and Counselor Education, an Ed.S. in School Psychology, M.S. degrees in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Communication Disorders, an M.Ed. in School Counseling, an undergraduate degree in Speech Language Pathology, and an undergraduate minor in Counseling.  All degree programs are accredited or in the process of becoming accredited by their appropriate organization.  In addition, the department serves both undergraduate and graduate students from other programs throughout the University.

Candidates will have a doctorate (ABD will be considered) in educational psychology or a closely related field.  In addition, a commitment to excellence in teaching, research, and service is required.  The new faculty member will be expected to demonstrate potential to initiate, maintain, and obtain support for a research program. 

The Bayh College of Education at Indiana State University continues a long tradition as an institution for educator preparation.  A large array of academic and licensure programs enroll over 600 undergraduate and over 600 graduate students. Programs in the school include associate, baccalaureate, masters, and specialist degree programs for teachers, counselors, media specialists, school and higher education leaders, speech and language pathologists, and school psychologists.  Doctoral programs are offered in Curriculum and Instruction; Educational Leadership; School Psychology; and Counselor Education. Organizations that currently accredit these programs include CAEP, APA, NASP, CACREP, and ASHA.  The full-time faculty of 46 is organized into three academic departments.  Prominent among many partnerships linking faculty and students with their professional fields are:  the endowed Blumberg Center for Interdisciplinary Studies in Special Education; the Norma and William Grosjean Clinics, which include the Clinical Mental Health Counseling Clinc, the Porter School Psychology Center, and the Rowe Center for Communicative Disorders; and co-sponsorship of the regional office of AdvancED (formerly North Central Association) to evaluate and accredit schools.  Indiana State University is committed to involving students in experiential learning and community engagement opportunities.
