Provides technical support and consultation to student, staff, faculty and labs in the College of Letters and Science departments. In an environment consisting of PC and Macintosh hardware, Mac OS, Windows, and Unix operating systems, and a variety of network and production applications, serves as a contact for help requests from approximately 1,200 users in 36 departments and over 21,000 students. Provides support for instructional labs in more than 15 locations and departmental classrooms in more than 90 locations with a total of 500 computer systems serving faculty, staff and students in all the Schools and Colleges at UCSB.


Requirements: Bachelor's degree or experience in Communications, Education, Computer Science, Psychology, or Business related field preferred. Must be proficient in the use of the MS Office tool set. Must be proficient in the use of Google Suite. Good verbal and written communication skills, client relation skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Broad knowledge of enterprise system functions, dependencies and interactions and ability to use this information to troubleshoot. Requires interpersonal skills in order to work with both technical and nontechnical personnel at various levels in the organization. Experience developing and administering formal technical training to users at a variety of levels. Ability to elicit and communicate technical and non-technical information in a clear and concise manner. General knowledge of other areas of IT.

Salary: $23.47 - $31.44/hr.
