Sacred Heart University invites nominations and applications for the position of Dean, College of Health Professions.  

The College of Health Professions (CHP) offers undergraduate and/or graduate programs in the following disciplines:  Athletic Training, Exercise Science, Health Sciences, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Physician Assistant, Public Health, and Speech-Language Pathology.  CHP students receive training in the Center for Healthcare Education, a state-of-the-art facility that includes clinical skills laboratories, a driving simulator and a home health suite.  Sacred Heart University, one of the country’s fastest-growing universities and the second-largest Catholic university in New England, is deeply rooted in the Catholic intellectual tradition and entrepreneurial, nimble and creative in its approach to all aspects of its programs and services.

This is an opportunity for an innovative leader within the health professions to play a pivotal role in leading the CHP’s continued growth in developing new programs to educate students for challenging and meaningful health care careers.  Reporting to the Provost, the Dean will articulate a vision and corresponding plan that will result in the College being recognized nationally as a leader in the preparation of superior providers of health care. 

Candidates must have an earned doctorate and/or a record of professional accomplishment that merits appointment to the University’s faculty. Candidates must demonstrate proven experience in entrepreneurial and innovative leadership and the ability to inspire faculty and staff to work together to build outstanding academic programs with the capacity for growth. The ideal candidate will possess strong change management skills with the ability to effectively partner with a broad range of constituents internally and externally.  The successful candidate will be a persuasive communicator with strong and highly effective interpersonal skills.
