As a backlot production support staff member, you will support the management of daily operations at the backlot production facility, ensuring a safe and efficient environment for students and faculty. You will support backlot management for classes, productions, maintenance, tours, and special events. Responsibilities will include training and supervising student workers and performing regular equipment maintenance checks to address issues as they arise. You will collaborate with the backlot production manager on maintenance, repairs, cleaning, and equipment updates.
You will maintain daily documentation, procedural information, and issue resolutions in this position. You will also communicate key information and escalate high-priority concerns to the appropriate personnel, monitor various budgets, and coordinate backup support for the production manager. Additionally, you will support equipment checkout, engineering, and AV technical staff and research emerging technologies. You will also develop equipment and facility training materials.

Work Hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.

Minimum Qualifications:
- At least one year of relevant experience in film production or a related industry
- Professional experience in safety training
- Proficiency in computer hardware and software, studio systems, video and audio equipment, and lighting for film and television
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in an educational setting
