As a compliance investigator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that SCAD staff, faculty, and students comply with all federal, state, and local laws, as well as university policies and procedures. You will also play a vital role in conducting investigations into violations of sexual misconduct and human resources (HR) policies. When conducting prompt and impartial investigations into complaints, you will collect and analyze evidence, interview relevant parties, and review documents in search of facts. During interviews, you will listen intently and demonstrate sensitivity to each individual's needs. In doing so, you will foster a climate that supports students, faculty, and staff and is respectful of differences.
For report preparation, you will include the documentation and analysis of clear findings with recommended actions. You will present investigation results to relevant stakeholders, including senior management, to facilitate decision-making and the implementation of corrective measures. You will also establish professional and productive working relationships with staff at all levels of the university. Working closely with SCAD's legal and HR departments, you will be responsible for updating policies in alignment with changing laws and regulations. You will demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of pertinent policies. This position is vital to overseeing compliance efforts, ensuring continuous adherence to policies and regulations, and conducting periodic audits and reviews across various departments.
The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills to articulate complex issues clearly and concisely. The candidate must be able to pay close attention to details. Having an analytical mindset to conduct thorough investigations and assessments is desired. The ability to remain neutral and work collaboratively or independently while managing multiple priorities is key to this position.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in law, business, ethics, human resources, or a related field
- Minimum of three years of relevant experience in compliance investigations in an educational or similar setting
- Strong knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and ethical standards related to higher education and compliance
- Ability to work well under stress
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional certifications in compliance, investigations, or related fields
