As a social media specialist, you will develop and implement creative content strategies for TikTok that align with the SCAD brand voice and its objectives. You will ensure high-quality posts, brainstorm ideas and scripts for TikTok videos, and optimize content for maximum reach and engagement. You will collaborate with the social media team to consistently schedule and publish content, tracking and analyzing content performances to refine strategies and improve engagement. You will also identify, recruit, and collaborate with student influencers to create authentic and impactful content that showcases the SCAD experience.
In this position, you will build and maintain relationships with student clubs and organizations to feature their activities and achievements on social media platforms. Your collaboration with various departments to develop initiatives will be instrumental in enhancing student involvement and social media interactions. You will schedule meetings, manage content calendars, and maintain organized records of social media activities and performance metrics. You will also participate in additional social media efforts for university and museum accounts.
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of TikTok trends, video editing, and platform algorithms. The candidate should also have excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills. They should demonstrate proficiency in social media scheduling and analytic tools, have a creative mindset, and be passionate about storytelling and content creation. They should also be able to work collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment, staying current with the latest trends and best practices in social media marketing.

Work Hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, digital media, or a related discipline
- Proven experience in content creation and management for TikTok and Pinterest
- Experience working with student influencers and engaging with student communities
- Ability to travel domestically or internationally on short notice and for extended periods
