Cleveland Clinic, one of the world’s most distinguished academic medical centers, announces a search for the Chair of the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine.

The Sydell and Arnold Miller Family Heart & Vascular Institute (HVI) is the largest cardiovascular practice in the United States. In 2018, Cleveland Clinic was named the #1 heart care program in America by U.S New & World Report for the 24th year in a row.  As the largest department within the HVI, the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine is comprised of seven sections including Cardiovascular Imaging; Clinical Cardiology; Electrophysiology and Pacing; Heart Failure; Invasive/Interventional Cardiology; Preventive Cardiology; and Vascular Medicine. With over 140 physicians, the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine is focused every day on its goals of innovation, dealing with change, preserving practice, education and research, and achieving superb outcomes and safety for our patients.

The Department Chair reports directly to the Chair of the Heart & Vascular Institute. The ideal candidate should be nationally/internationally recognized and have experience leading in a large matrix organization. In addition, candidates should have an excellent record of clinical service, leadership, professionalism, teaching and scholarship.  The Department Chair will have ultimate responsibility for the clinical, educational, research and financial programs within the Department.  A faculty appointment at a rank commensurate with experience is available at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University.
