As an events operations manager, you will oversee the daily operations of the events department under the direction of the executive director, ensuring accurate and measurable outcomes, data, and results are achieved and ready for use in the SCAD President's Report. You will certify that all events have measurable outcomes as you work closely with event planners to create targeted goals, follow up to confirm data accuracy, and submit surveys for university signature events to determine if goals were achieved. You will perform event-specific duties, including on-site event support and management of Savannah programs. Occasionally, you will assist with the planning of signature events.
In this position, you will create solutions for dynamic projects and creative on-brand collaborations, work with the SCAD mail room on event shipments, and organize weekly agenda items for weekly meetings with the executive director of events. You will manage the department's email to execute prompt responses and proactively support the events team to maximize productivity, as well as submit permits to the city for university-related functions (e.g., right-of-way permits, alcohol permits, and city space rental permits). Among other duties, you will research vendors, ideate elevated events, maintain shared drives, and manage budgets and travel logistics for events and team members (i.e., SCAD FASHION show, Commencement, SCAD deFINE ART, etc.). You will also work closely with the SCAD legal team to follow procedures to execute contracts for external vendors, production agencies, venues, talent, and more on behalf of the university.
The successful candidate possesses stellar organization skills and a keen attention to detail. A forward-thinker, the candidate also demonstrates the initiative and confidence to lead a team and to achieve departmental goals.

Work Hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- Three to five years of professional experience in the event and hospitality industries
Certificates, licenses, and registrations:
- Valid driver's license
- Reliable transportation
Travel Required:
- Less than 10%
