The College of Engineering welcomes applications for an Academic Advisor 1 or an Academic Advisor 2 to join the Advising Team. 

The College of Engineering seeks an Academic Advisor to join a dedicated team supporting high-achieving students. The advisor will contribute to the College’s student support plan, including K-12 outreach, tutoring, and career services. Reporting to the Office of the Dean, the advisor will be part of a collaborative culture that helps students succeed and transition into important roles in the evolving economy.

Academic Advisor 1

The Academic Advisor 1 provides individual and group advising to undergraduate students on schedules, majors, and course loads. Responsibilities include advising on core curriculum, major requirements, participating in retention and recruitment activities, and supporting special projects. This full-time, in-person administrative faculty position reports to the Coordinator of Academic Success. An engineering or STEM background is not required.

 

Academic Advisor 2

In addition to the Academic Advisor 1 duties, the Academic Advisor 2 provides individual and group advice on schedules, majors, and course loads. Responsibilities include advising returning students, creating advisement plans, developing materials, and supporting peer leaders and faculty. This role also involves maintaining community relationships and supporting recruitment efforts. This full-time, in-person administrative faculty position reports to the Coordinator of Academic Success. An engineering or STEM background is not required.

Required Qualifications **Candidates will be hired at the level that is comparable to their experience, knowledge, skills and abilities

 

Academic Advisor 1

Bachelor’s Degree and one (1) year of work experience OR

Master’s Degree and no work experience required

Related Professional Experience: In a field related to student support, human services, education, or related advising position.

 

Academic Advisor 2 

Bachelor’s Degree and two (2) years of related work experience OR

Master’s Degree and one (1) year of related work experience

Related Professional Experience: Academic advising, teaching, student services or related fields

 

Schedule or Travel Requirements

Occasional travel may be required

 

Compensation Grade

Academic Advisor 1 – Compensation Grade A – Non-exempt

Academic Advisor 2 - Compensation Grade B1 - Exempt

Salary is competitive and commensurate with related education and experience.
