Associate Dean of Students

NYU Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) seeks an innovative, student-centered, and thoughtful leader to join the NYUAD community as Associate Dean of Students.

About NYUAD

NYUAD is pioneering a new model of higher education for a global world, dedicated at once to excellence in teaching and research and to advancing cooperation and progress on humanity’s shared challenges. It offers an outstanding liberal arts and sciences education to students from around the world, with a distinctive focus on intercultural understanding and leadership.

The idea for NYU Abu Dhabi was conceived in March 2006, with the goal of creating a world-class American liberal arts and research institution in the United Arab Emirates to offer an unparalleled educational opportunity that would attract the brightest students and academics from the Emirates and around the world. NYUAD was established in partnership with NYU and the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and founded upon the following core understandings: the value of a liberal arts education; the benefits a research university to the society that sustains it; the value and necessity of interaction with new ideas and people who are different; and a commitment to educating students who are true citizens of the world.

The first educational offering at NYUAD began in July 2008 with the inception of the Sheikh Mohamad bin Zayed Scholars Program. This annual eight-month enrichment and leadership development program—which continues today—is for top undergraduate students enrolled in the UAE’s three federal universities. That same year, the NYUAD Institute hosted its inaugural public event to launch its series of scholarly and public programs that offer a platform for intellectual discourse in the capital. To date, the Institute has hosted more than 600 lectures, conferences, screenings and workshops.
