The College of Science at the University of Nevada, Reno is seeking applications for a Coordinator, Research Grants. This position is responsible for co-directing grant processes in the college and collaborating with research faculty and staff. The position duties include: proposal development, assessment, and monitoring for proposal compliance to secure research funding; and processing non-competing continuations, supplements, and subcontract documents for Sponsored Projects review. As a subject matter expert on grant procedures, sponsor requirements, and compliance regulations in the area of research administration, this position provides faculty and staff trainings to help enhance and streamline the submission process. 

The College of Science is committed to expanding college research and providing assistance to new and seasoned faculty alike. The college has built a full-service grants and projects team in the Dean’s office to provide the needed structure for the lifecycle of an external award. As such, this position takes on college-level coordination of major sponsored projects at the pre-award level in coordination with Sponsored Projects. As well, this position is responsible for managing a Grants and Projects Analyst 1 employee.

Required Qualifications: Bachelors’ degree and two years of related work experience OR Master’s degree and one year of related work experience.

Related work experience: Pre-award grant activities, grant writing, technical editing, related training, budget/account management, etc.

Schedule or Travel Requirements: Occasional travel
