Summary


The Coordinator of Residential Student Success provides leadership for residential student success initiatives and outreach. This position will collaborate with units within the Division of Student Engagement and Success and various units across campus to lead initiatives and outreach efforts focused on supporting residential students. The coordinator and their team (i.e., graduate student staff and undergraduate student staff) will monitor, follow-up with, and provide support to residential students about various possible barriers to academic progress (e.g., early alerts, midterm alerts, other academic notifications). The coordinator is responsible for developing trainings and resources for staff within the Office of Residence Life related to student initiatives and outreach efforts. This individual is also responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Resident Student Success Mentor (RSM) program, initiatives associated with the SMART program (Students of Color Mentoring, Aiding, Retaining, Teaching), and the Generation Falcon program.

Essential Functions

Provide leadership and oversight for residential student success initiatives
Develop, coordinate, implement, and track residential student success initiatives that promote retention and persistence. Manage outreach to residential students about academic progress and retention. Collaborate with campus partners to create programs, initiatives, and resources that support residential student success. This includes serving on various student success working groups and committees such as the Early Intervention Team.

Lead all aspects of the Resident Student Success Mentor (RSM), initiatives associated with the SMART program (Students of Color Mentoring, Aiding, Retaining, Teaching), and the Generation Falcon program
Design, plan, and manage all aspects of the three residential-specific student success programs. This includes managing the day-to-day operations for all three programs and ensuring alignment with Division of Student Engagement and Success and institutional retention and student success initiatives.

Supervision
Provide direct supervision, evaluation, and professional development support for the two graduate assistants associated with the residential student success programs and initiatives. Provide direct and indirect supervision to undergraduate student staff from RSM, SMART, and other residential programs directly associated with the position.

Assessment
Complete regular review and evaluation of all programs and initiatives associated with residential student success. Collaborates with the Student Success Analytics and Technology area within the Division of Student Engagement and Success to ensure residential success initiatives are utilizing all technology platforms (i.e., EAB Navigate and Power BI) available. Identify and research best-practice strategies to continually improve initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications


The following Degree is required:
  • Bachelor's Degree. Degree must be conferred at time of application.

The following Experience is required:
  • 1 year of experience working in a housing or residence life operation

The following Experience is preferred:
  • 1 year working with retention initiatives
  • 2 years of supervision

  • Experience with recruitment, training, and selection of staff
  • Experience with student organization advising
  • Knowledge of academic, leadership, or diversity programming, theory, and trends
  • Ability to work on several projects concurrently
  • Basic computer skills, budget management skills, and creative problem solving
