Responsibilities: Responsibilities include the on-going development and teaching of graduate level MSW courses in an advanced generalist program. Creative, innovative teaching methods, including the use of technology, are expected. Service to the Department, School, University, and the larger community is required as well as the establishment of ongoing scholarly activity in a focused area of research.

Required Qualifications: 1) MSW from a CSWE accredited program; 2) Earned doctorate in social work (preferred) or closely related field by August 2019; 3) Two years post MSW practice experience; 4) Teaching experience at the undergraduate level.

Preferred Qualifications: 1) Active scholarly agenda; 2) Five years practice experience; 3) Social work licensure; 4) Teaching experience at the graduate level.

Background Check: A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the CSU. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the application status of applicants or continued employment of current CSU employees who apply for the position.

Mandated Reporter: The person holding this position is considered a "mandated reporter" under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 as a condition of employment.

Compensation: Commensurate with experience and qualifications. CSUB offers competitive salaries and a generous benefits package (e.g. excellent health, dental, vision, and retirement benefits).

Workload Load: The normal workload includes teaching assignments, service, advising, and campus committee assignments. It may also involve program coordination.
