Conservation Biologist
The Department of Biology, California State University, Bakersfield, invites applicants for a tenure-track position in Conservation Biology at the level of Assistant Professor. The candidate's research focus should be on wildlife biology, with preference for candidates working on threatened and endangered species. There are numerous opportunities for research on local threatened and endangered vertebrates, including the San Joaquin antelope squirrel, Giant Kangaroo rat, Tipton's kangaroo rat, Blunt-nosed leopard lizard, and San Joaquin kit fox. The successful candidate will be expected to teach major and non-major courses depending upon the applicant's background and departmental needs. The candidate must be capable of developing an externally funded research program that includes both undergraduate and graduate students (M.S. Biology). Position available August 2019.
