Tenure-Track Faculty - Exercise Science
Rider University has recently expanded its investment in STEM education and is in the process of building new infrastructure and academic programs. As a result, the Department of Biology, Behavioral Neuroscience, and Health Sciences in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences is recruiting for five full-time faculty positions: two in Biology, one in Health Science, and two in Exercise Science. The following is an announcement for candidates for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Exercise Science to begin September 2019.
Candidates must have a PhD or other terminal degree in Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, Exercise Science, or related field, experience teaching undergraduate students, and the ability to engage undergraduates in an active, independent research program. Preferred candidates will have a record of outstanding teaching of diverse populations of undergraduates, developing internships for undergraduates, and clinical and/or post-doctoral experience. Candidates with clinical doctorates will be considered based on the entirety of their professional experience. Professional certifications from the National Strength and Conditioning Association or American College of Sports Medicine are strongly desired.
Responsibilities for this position will include contributing to the development and instruction of courses including internships, in the Exercise Sciences major; developing an active, independent research program engaging undergraduate students (clinically-oriented research experience is preferred); serving as an academic advisor for students, and providing value to the Department, College, and University. Willingness to work collaboratively with other faculty and to mentor students from a wide range of cultural and academic backgrounds is essential.
